We usually associate swimming with a summer-time activity, but there are also places where you can swim all year round. Of course nothing beats a cool pool on those hot summer days!

INDOOR SWIMMING
Lifetime Fitness - www.lifetimefitness.com. 8310 Wilkens Boulevard, Mason, OH 45040 (513-234-0660). Well, I have to say I'm a bit biased towards Lifetime since we're members but I absolutely love this place. In addition to the outdoor pool, they have a wonderful indoor pool - actually two pools - one is used for lap swimming. They have zero-depth entry, 2 big water slides, a mushroom water feature, and a small slide for the little ones. In addition, if you decide to go as a family you and your husband can take turns using their two awesome hot tubs or sauna - perfect on those cold winter days.
Mason Community Center - www.imaginemason.org. 6050 Mason-Montgomery Road, Mason, Ohio (513-229-8555). The MCC has a terrific pool area that my girls love. We've taken swim lessons there a few times and they never want to leave after their lesson. There is a large pool with separate lanes for lap swimming. They have some cool, fun water features, a big waterslide and then they have a mini-lazy river area which is fun to float around in. You can pay to use the pool for the day but you can also buy a membership so you can use their facilities all the time.
Mercy HealthPlex -
In addition to their fitness centers and wellness programs, they offer
swim lessons and have swimming facilities. Check their website on how
to join.
Stepping Stones Center - www.steppingstonescenter.org - Stepping Stones is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping disabled children and adults by providing resources and support. They also have an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool that is nice and warm (88 degrees). When the pool is not being used by Stepping Stones, they invite the community to swim. Pool dues are only $25/year and then you just pay $3.50 per visit or $35 for 10 visits. You can also participate in their Warm Water Fitness classes ($35/10 visits) and they offer private swim lessons. See their website for their open swim times. Call 513-831-4660 for more information. 5650 Given Road, Indian Hill.
The Ralphe J. Stolle Countryside YMCA (Lebanon). www.countrysideymca.org. 1699 Deerfield Road, Lebanon, Ohio 45036 (513-932-1424). The YMCA also has two indoor pools at their Family Aquatic Center- it looks like they have lots of fun features the little ones will enjoy! Again, check their website for times and cost of membership.
Tri-Health Pavilion - www.trihealthpavilion.com - Fitness and wellness facility located off of I-71 at the Pfeiffer Rd. exit. Offering a variety of memberships. They have fitness equipment, classes, swimming facilities, a spa, cafe and more. They also have the Kids' Life Center where kids can enjoy fitness activities and have fun while you work out (you pay for up to 2 hours of care). Offering indoor swimming in their therapy pool during their family swim hours. 513-985-0900
OUTDOOR SWIMMING
Lifetime Fitness - www.lifetimefitness.com. 8310 Wilkens Boulevard, Mason, OH 45040 (513-234-0660). I'm a bit biased towards Lifetime since we're members but I absolutely love this place. It has a wonderful huge outdoor pool with zero-depth entry, a mushroom water feature, two waterslides, and an area for lap swimming. There are plenty of seats surrounding the pool and they have an outdoor cafe. There's also an outdoor hot tub. One of the bonuses of being a member is being able to use their child care center so I sometimes tell my girls that Mommy needs to "work out" so they get to go have fun in an awesome and fun supervised and very safe indoor child's play area. I'll head to the pool for an hour by myself to relax or read a book and then I'll come back to get them to swim. It makes a happy day for all involved.
Lue Eves Municipal Pool (outdoor) - www.imaginemason.org. Corwin M. Nixon Park, 6249 Mason-Montgomery Road (behind the Mason Community Center) (513-229-8553). This is a wonderful community pool - they have resident and non-resident rates so anyone is welcome to come to the pool for a fun day in the sun. There is a snack bar on-site, plenty of chairs and green space to put your towel and they also have a sand playground for the kids. There's a tot pool with zero depth entry, diving boards and a whirly slide. It really has it all. They haven't put out their 2009 rates yet, so make sure you check out their website. Children under 3 are admitted free and they offered 50% off admission after 5pm in 2008 so hopefully they'll do the same this year. You can also buy a set of guest passes (10 or $21.00) if you think you'll be entertaining this summer.
The Ralphe J. Stolle Countryside YMCA (Lebanon). www.countrysideymca.org. 1699 Deerfield Road, Lebanon, Ohio 45036 (513-932-1424). I haven't been to this facility myself but I've had friends who have and they also have a nice outdoor pool - they actually have 3 pools - a main outdoor pool, baby pool, and a family play pool with a big water play ground in the center and 3 slides. I think you also have to join the YMCA to use their facilities so check out their website for more information.
Also check out the Amusement & Water Parks tab for info on Great Wolf Lodge, The Beach Waterpark, Boomerang Bay at Kings Island, & CoCo Key waterpark.
If you just want to get cool but don't need a full fledged pool then check out the Hamilton County Park's fun water play areas in the Playgrounds & Parks tab.

(you pay for up to 2 hours of care). Offering outdoor swimming (Memorial Day to Labor Day) during their family swim hours. 513-985-0900.
SWIM CLUBS
Swim clubs usually have smaller pools then the bigger sports centers but the advantage is there are less members, you may get to know your swim buddies and they may have some fun family-events for you to participate in. Visit their websites for membership rates and rules.
