ART
Art & PE Summer Camp - June 10-11 & June 14-18 - Art teacher, Mrs. Hornung, and PE teacher, Mr. Johnston, will host a fun summer camp combining 1.5 hours of art and 1.5 hours of fitness fun in the gymnasium at MECC. The camps are not sponsored by the Mason City Schools. Cost for the two day camp is $50 and for the one week camp it's $125/person. Camps run from 9am-Noon or 1-4pm or you can sign your child up for both session times. Contact Mr. Johnston.

Whole Foods Market Mason- Kid's Cooking Camp - July 6th – 9th and August 3rd – 6th - 10:30 – 12:30p.m. and they have just added afternoon sessions from 1:30-3:30pm. Only $30 for the 4 day series. This is the perfect camp for budding young chefs! Children ages 5-12 will have an opportunity to make their own dishes and eat their creations. Each class will focus on one of our exciting topics and students will receive a recipe to discuss including cooking techniques and ingredients. Next, they will compile a shopping list and shop the store for ingredients, then return to the Café where they will prepare the recipe.

Hamilton County Park District - Camps are for ages 4 - 17 years. Registration begins Feb. 9 and camps range from $60-$260. There are many exciting camps being offered at various parks this summer. They can take a farm adventure at Parky’s Farm in Winton Woods by making new barnyard friends and planting crops, or they can spend the day at Sharon Woods going ‘creeking’ to discover pond life. There will also be
hiking at Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve in search of wildlife and their habitats and a camp at Miami Whitewater Forest to see unique places inside the wetlands, woods, fields and prairies. They can even head to Winton Woods and go fishing, boating, hiking and biking, as well as climb a climbing wall, do low ropes and go canoeing at Adventure Outpost! Lake Isabella is also a great park where kids can cast a line and learn about fishing biology and conservation. Cougar Softball Skills Camp- - June 21 &22 - Presented by Mount Notre Dame Softball head coach and Director of Softball Operations at Sports of All Sorts, Jackie Cornelius-Bedel, and her staff. The camp will focus on all areas of Fastpitch. Offensive skills to be covered include hitting, bunting, slapping, base running. Defensive areas will focus on both infield and outfield skills.
