Chocolate Torte - Make sure you have whipped cream and vanilla ice cream on hand for this dense chocolate dessert.
- 1 c. pecans, coarsely ground
- 1 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- ¼ c. butter, melted
- 16 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips (use the minis if you can)
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 6 eggs
- ¾ c. granulated sugar
- 1/3 c. all purpose flour
1. Preheat oven to 325º
2. Spray 9 in. springform pan with non-stick spray
3. Combine pecans, graham cracker crumbs, 2 tbsp sugar and butter
4. Press mixture onto bottom and 1 in. up the side of your springform pan
5. In large saucepan, melt chocolate with cream over low heat
6. In large mixing bowl, combine eggs, ¾ c. sugar, and flour, and beat for 10 min. or until thick and lemon colored
7. Once chocolate is melted, fold ¼ of egg mixture into chocolate, and then fold all of the chocolate into the egg mixture
8. Pour into crust lined pan and bake for 45 min. until puffed out around edges
9. Cool for 20 min. and remove side of springform pan
10. Cool for at least 4 hours
