It's always lots of fun to go to a live professional game (even for the non-sports fans - people watching should be considered its own sport). | ![]() |
Cincinnati Bengals - www.bengals.com. Paul Brown Stadium, downtown. Well, you can't live in Cincinnati and not mention the Bengals. Sure, they've had a rough couple (or more) of seasons but they're still our hometown football team so we need to keep cheering them on. Now going to a Bengal's game has to be a lot more expensive than most of the activities on this site, but if you have any football enthusiasts in your home, then you need to try to get them to a game at least once. I mean, I'm not that into football but there's definitely something to be said about going to a live professional football game - there is so much to see and take in that makes it all worthwhile (of course, getting free tickets helped too).
Cincinnati Commandos - See Cincinnati's newest indoor football team play at the
Cincinnati Gardens. 2250 Seymour Ave. For tickets ($12-17/adults and
$10/kids & $7/ages 10 and under). Call (513) 351-3999 or visit cincinnaticommandos.com. Parking is free. See monthly top picks for game dates. During their inaugural season, adults will also get $1 beers for every home game.
Cincinnati Cyclones - www.cycloneshockey.com. US Bank Arena (513-421-PUCK). Now, we haven't been to a hockey game as a family yet, but I have been to a Cyclones game before and they are really fun. Seeing all the hockey players race around the ice rink after that little puck gets your adrenaline going and makes you cheer for the hometown team. The music they play gets you pumped up and excited as well. I think this is a great activity for a group of Dads to do with their kids. It can give Mom a break and let Dad have a little one-on-one time with the kids while doing something that he would enjoy! They even do birthday parties - how fun and memorable would that be!
Cincinnati Excite - www.cincinnati-excite.com - Professional Men's indoor soccer. Games played at Game Time Training Center. 530-C Quality Blvd., Fairfield, Ohio. 513-543-7144. Their season runs Nov-March.
Cincinnati Reds - www.mlb.com or http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=cin. 100 Main St, Cincinnati, OH 45202 (513-765-7000). There's nothing better than hearing the crack of the bat, eating peanuts & hot dogs while enjoying a professional league ball game at Great American Ballpark. If you can get tickets (cheapest in the country) there's no better time to go than on Opening Day. Since most of us can't get tickets, we can at least cheer the Reds on with their opening day parade that starts at a local Cincinnati treasure, Findlay Market. So, check out the Red's website for their schedule and ticket prices.
Check out the Cincinnati Red's Hall of Fame and Museum while you're at the ball park. It pays tribute to "The Ol' Lefthander", Joe Nuxhall, as well as many other local legends!
MasonMetu Tip - You're allowed to bring in unopened bottled water to the game - you'll be able to save a bit of money if you do that. Purchase an unopened bag of peanuts as well. Park under Fountain Square for only $4 and walk to the game. You might be able to check out some of the fun events happening on the square while you're there. Also, there are two concessions which have $1 menu items for hot dogs, soda, ice cream cups & peanuts - on is located in the Fan Zone and the other on the View Level of the first base side. There are also concessions throughout the park offering $7 value meals for adults and $5 value meals for kids.
