My girls haven't tried Martial Arts yet but I have some friends whose kids really benefit from it.

They offer children's classes that "provide great exercise, increases self-esteem and provide an outlet for pent-up energy" (per their brochure). There are lots of names I don't recognize but they have Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai and Judo. They train elite fighters, but students are not required to fight or compete and are not pressured to do so.

Check out their website since they offer specials - sometimes they'll have a trial for 1 week plus a free uniform for $25.

They use the training method of To-Shin Do® that is "based on an ancient and well-tested system of warrior disciplines handed down by nine historical Japanese lineages". There are classes for youth to adult. There is a Little Dragons class (ages 4-7).
