Note: If you pull up a recent blog post, you'll need to scroll down to the bottom of this page to read it - it is a snafu in the programming that this untrained web Mom can't quite figure out....yet.

MasonMetu™ Blog
Here you’ll find my blog where I write about some of my own experiences as a Mom as well as post some awesome giveaways. I’ll highlight certain features of MasonMetu that you might like to check out.
Thank you for reading my blog posts. I hope you can laugh along with me, preferably not at me. :) I've had fun writing the posts and I've found it is a great way to journal moments in our lives. One day when my girls are older, I'll be able to share these posts with them.
On some browsers (Internet Explorer), you may need to click on the current blog post in order to see the ghosts of blogs past - then it opens back up into the main blog page and you have to scroll down again for all the posts. I know it's a bit confusing but I'm not quite sure how to work that bug out of the system yet.
How to leave a comment on a post:
If you'd like to leave a comment on a blog, please click on the title of the article you are reading, then scroll down and you'll find the place to leave the comment.

We've got 6 days to go until summer vacation and even though I've got the girls signed up for some summer camps & VBS's (thank you Deerfield Township, Whole Foods Market, MAD Camp, & King of Kings), I thought it would be fun for the girls to list three things they'd like to do over summer break. K was so excited, she loves making lists and crossing them off. The girls wanted us to do the list too so here's our s... Continue reading ...
Silly Bandz – What have you done for me lately?
Hmmm….let me see, you have: - Caused my daughter to feel worthless and insignificant. So sad when your first grader comes home and says, “no one likes me” and then the tears well up and the water works start flowing. I finally figured out it was because no one shared a rubber band that was shaped like a dog with her at school.
- Caused mass hysteria in Mason – Mom’s are going crazy trying to locate these things. They are flying off the shelves as fast as they are stocked. You’ll catch ...

Monkey See.....Monkey Do.....
The spring is one of my favorite times of the year. I love that the snow has melted away and we can finally come out of hibernation and resurface in our neighborhood. During the winter doldrums, I feel as if we are all in our dark and dreary little cocoons just waiting for the sun to shine. When it finally does, all the neighbors start filtering outside and we finally get to see how they’... Continue reading ...
Uh-oh, fashion may be catching up to my girl……
This weekend my first grader asked me, “Mommy, why don’t I ever get to wear jeans?" I told her that she could wear jeans if she wanted to. I didn’t elaborate on the past jean fiascos where my daughter would get into hysterical fits if I even tried to put a pair of jeans on her. She always had to do the “squat test” which entailed doing squats, leg lunges and other flexibility moves and if the jeans didn’t move well with her, well, they were out of there. We’ve had many cute ... Continue reading ...
The Power of a Shoebox........
Wow, I never knew that a shoebox could keep my kids playing and engaged for so long. At our recent Brownie meeting, the girls had to make a little home for their stuffed animal. All the girls at the meeting seemed to really enjoy the activity but my girls took it to a new level when we got home. They expanded their shoeboxes into mobile apartments – one room for sleeping, another for eating, etc. My youngest crammed as many animals as she could into hers. The only problem occurred when ... "It's Not As Easy As It Seems"... (is it ever?)
I knew there was a reason I stored away that blue box of baking fun. My daughter got an Easy Bake Oven last year for Christmas along with some fancy cupcake decorator (another box that is still in hiding). This afternoon she really wanted to bake some cookies and being the fantastic baking Mom that I am, I did not have any ingredients for cookies in the house (a.k.a pre-made slice-n-bake cookie dough). Not thinking clearly I said, “Why don’t we get out your Easy Bake Oven?” Both gir... Continue reading ...
Peter Pan - Perfectly Performed
Yesterday I took my five-year old to see Peter Pan by The Children’s Theatre of Mason (CTM). I’m always amazed that someone can actually memorize lines and then give them life. What’s even more amazing is that the actors are all under the age of 18 – wow – I have trouble remembering three items on a grocery list. The kids were fantastic actors. And they could even sing and dance (two feats that I have never mastered no matter how hard I try). Lately, I’ve tended to rate perf... Continue reading ...
A Blast from the Past
There are so many television choices and programs on now that you just can’t keep up, but we recently found the Boomerang channel on demand and it has all these old cartoons that I watched as a kid – Scooby Doo, Josie & the Pussycats, The Jetsons, etc. My daughters are now hooked on Jabber Jaw (but they call it “Jammer” Jaw). I have to laugh when I see it because there is this big shark, Jabber Jaw, who literally runs around with a crew of kids (very similar to Scooby Doo’s group ... Continue reading ...
