MasonMetu™ Blog
Here you’ll find my blog where I write about some of my own experiences as a Mom as well as post some awesome giveaways. I’ll highlight certain features of MasonMetu that you might like to check out.
Thank you for reading my blog posts. I hope you can laugh along with me, preferably not at me. :) I've had fun writing the posts and I've found it is a great way to journal moments in our lives. One day when my girls are older, I'll be able to share these posts with them.
On some browsers (Internet Explorer), you may need to click on the current blog post in order to see the ghosts of blogs past - then it opens back up into the main blog page and you have to scroll down again for all the posts. I know it's a bit confusing but I'm not quite sure how to work that bug out of the system yet.
How to leave a comment on a post:
If you'd like to leave a comment on a blog, please click on the title of the article you are reading, then scroll down and you'll find the place to leave the comment.

Thank you!

Thanks to Feld Entertainment for putting on another great Disney on Ice show. On Friday, we got to see Mickey & Minnie's Magical Journey at the US Bank Arena. The show was so entertaining and it was great to watch my girls' expressions when they saw some of their favorite Disney characters come alive. Opening the show were some of my favorites: Mickey & Minnie and Donald & Daisy, oh, and we can't forget Goofy. We got to see some amazing skaters (don't know how they manage to skate so effortles... Kudos to the Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance, all the artisans, student artists, entertainers, and slew of volunteers that made the festival a wonderful experience for not only my family but for many others. Special thanks to Meredith Raffle, Executive Director, for the countless hours she has devoted to our community to make the Mason Arts Festival so successful. Thank you Mason Christian Village for providing shuttle service. It's nice to see that the festival draws in so many visitors, but... Continue reading ...

Sometimes it's the little things that make a difference. That's what happened to me the other day. I had to get an oil change so I headed to a place close to home since it was fast and quick. I could see something hanging down from my Toyota Sienna and the oil change guy said I needed to get a bolt for the skid plate. Glad he told me the name since I am clueless about cars, and knowing the name of things does make you sound like you know something. I told him that I'd probably just swi... Continue reading ...

I wanted to let everyone know about a great new family-friendly website called Family Friendly Cincinnati. It is an awesome resource and gives you even more recommendations on fun things to do with your family. The best part is that it's comprised of a wide variety of women who all have their own unique styles and perspectives and since we all live i... Continue reading ...

Thank you!
Snap…crackle….pop…..no, I wasn’t eating Rice Krispies, I was turning on my hall light the other morning and those were the sound effects I heard. I looked up and saw a small amount of smoke billowing out of my upstairs hall ceiling light. Uh-oh! I quickly turned off the light but then I got worried that maybe there was something burning behind the scenes so, of course, I end up calling Triple M (Mike the Maintenance the Man, a.k.a. my Dad) to see if he thinks I should call the fire... There really must be a higher power! Yesterday, Kaitlin was featured on the front page of our Hometown Enquirer (July 23, 2009) which was highlighting the wonderful Music, Art & Drama Camp (MAD Camp) presented by Christ’s Church in Mason in June. My friend gave me a copy of the paper last night and I was thrilled. If you read my last blog post, Fame is Fleeting, you’ll understand why. You even get to see her full face and not just the back of her head like Sarah & Chris’s newspaper p... Continue reading ...

Daddy & Sarah (not the picture from the paper)One half of the Goecke family is famous – Sarah and Chris were front page news of the local Auburn paper, The Citizen. On July 15th, we stopped by the town of Owasco’s wonderful playground to let the kids have some fun. While there, some local town employees were canvassing the playground and asked us if we wanted to see a presentation on internet safety geared to children under the age of 12. It was being given by Attorney General Andrew Cu... Continue reading ...
