Here you’ll find my blog where I write about some of my own experiences as a Mom as well as post some awesome giveaways.   I’ll highlight certain features of MasonMetu that you might like to check out.

Thank you for reading my blog posts. I hope you can laugh along with me, preferably not at me. :) I've had fun writing the posts and I've found it is a great way to journal moments in our lives. One day when my girls are older, I'll be able to share these posts with them.

On some browsers (Internet Explorer), you may need to click on the current blog post in order to see the ghosts of blogs past - then it opens back up into the main blog page and you have to scroll down again for all the posts.  I know it's a bit confusing but I'm not quite sure how to work that bug out of the system yet.

How to leave a comment on a post:

If you'd like to leave a comment on a blog, please click on the title of the article you are reading, then scroll down and you'll find the place to leave the comment.

Did you finish your Summer Bucket List?

Posted by Kristin Goecke on Thursday, August 11, 2011, In : Mom to Mom
Summer is winding down and school is almost here (Woot Woot)! I don't know about you but I am ready to get back on a schedule and ready for my girls to not have so much together time (I seem to be in referee mode a lot these days). Of course with the end of summer, there's always a bit of sadness that comes with it - my girls are another year older and time seems to be kicking up its heels and going into speed drive.

Our summer has been a busy one.  We did our annual two week trip to Owasco ...

    I miss my NPR.

Posted by Kristin Goecke on Sunday, June 27, 2010, In : Mom to Mom
When I was “gainfully employed” (I’m not sure why I had to add the gainfully but I’ve always heard that saying…..maybe it should’ve been “painfully employed” or “I need to work because I need the money employed”), I used to enjoy my commute to work. Why? I got to listen to NPR – National Public Radio. I loved my time with NPR.  I liked listening to Morning Edition on the way to work and hearing the familiar voices of Rene Montagne, Steve Inskeep, Carl Kassel and Frank De...

    Pictures with Santa.....Questions about Santa....

Posted by Kristin Goecke on Monday, December 21, 2009, In : Mom to Mom

Visiting Santa at Macy's - Downtown Cincinnati

Be careful with those Santa pictures.  We’ve been going to lots of really fun holiday events lately and many of them have had the jolly man in the red suit there.  But, I just realized that I need to be very careful with the pictures I take.  My oldest, K, has always been a perceptive child and she’s started to wonder how come Santa is always at the places we visit.  She hasn’t yet commented that Santa looks slightly different at each place ...

I dont' care what the critics say.....I loved New Moon.

Posted by Kristin Goecke on Monday, November 23, 2009, In : Mom to Mom

After all this waiting I finally got my Twilight fix and was able to see New Moon this past Friday (11-20-09).  My friend, B, had this awesome pre--party.  It was FAN-tastic.  There were about 15 Mom's there and we were all excited to go to 10:30 p.m. showing.  B outdid herself with the party - the ambiance was perfect complete with twinkling lights, hurricanes filled with apples, red candy apple rimmed Martini glasses, wine labeled Type A or Type O, a chocoloate fondue fountain colored red a...

    I admit it, I'm a TwilightMom.

Posted by Kristin Goecke on Thursday, November 19, 2009, In : Mom to Mom
If you read my post, "Edward Cullen, where have you been all my Life?" (scroll down after clicking link), you'll know that I'm a Twilight fan and a Twi-Mom.  I am so excited because I get to see New Moon this Friday, 11/20/09.  I actually bought my ticket over a month ago and have been patiently waiting and now the wait is almost over.  Yippee Yea!  I got a lot of my girlfriends addicted to Twilight and they are also now big fans of the Twilight Saga.  My good friend, B, is having a bunch of ...

    Back to School Blues...Nah....Maybe???

Posted by Kristin Goecke on Monday, August 24, 2009, In : Mom to Mom
School starts in three days.  Yippee Yea!  I am sooooooooo ready to have a routine, structure, and responsibilities again, not for my kids but for meLately  For the entire summer, I’ve picked up some bad habits and I’m ready to make a change.  The start of the school year is when I make my New Year’s resolutions – forget all that hoopla on Dec. 31st; its crunch time NOW……Here are my top 10 resolutions:

    1. Make a menu plan weekly and have meals for at least 4 nights per week.  If an...

    Happy Birthday Kaitlin!

Posted by Kristin Goecke on Thursday, July 30, 2009, In : Mom to Mom

     Kaitlin, 2 1/2 years

It’s Kaitlin’s 6th birthday tomorrow.  I can’t believe she’s going to be six.  All the difficulty, sadness and disappointments we had getting pregnant seem like such a distant memory now.  It took us over five years of trying complete with six insemination procedures, three in vitro-fertilizations and, sadly, two miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy.   I was ready to give up but then a miracle happened and we actually conceived (on our own) Kaitlin.  So, thinkin...

    Vacation Paradise.....or is it?

Posted by Kristin Goecke on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, In : Mom to Mom
It should be a vacation paradise – sitting in an oversized comfy chair, gazing out at a beautiful view of Owasco Lake, hearing the birds chirp, and watching the ducks swim by but, alas, my peaceful tranquility can only last about five minutes.  Instead, my reverie is interrupted by “Mommy, I’m really hungry.” “Mommy I need a snack.” “Mommy I need a band-aid.” “Mommy, I’m hungry” (said again for the 20th time).  I’ve faltered somewhere in Mommy 101 and I’ve realized t...

Edward Cullen - Where have you been all my life?

Posted by Kristin Goecke on Friday, June 26, 2009, In : Mom to Mom

Okay, I’ll admit it – I am the newest Twilight fan.  I wish I would have discovered this book series a few years ago, but now that they are in my life, I can’t get enough.  For those of you who don't know, Twilight by the amazingly talented, Stephenie Meyer, is the first in a series of books about vampires.  Yes, I do love reading about vampires especially the ones who assimilate into everyday life.  In this case, these vampires are in high school so in addition to all the mystical vamp...
