MasonMetu™ Blog
Here you’ll find my blog where I write about some of my own experiences as a Mom as well as post some awesome giveaways. I’ll highlight certain features of MasonMetu that you might like to check out.
Thank you for reading my blog posts. I hope you can laugh along with me, preferably not at me. :) I've had fun writing the posts and I've found it is a great way to journal moments in our lives. One day when my girls are older, I'll be able to share these posts with them.
On some browsers (Internet Explorer), you may need to click on the current blog post in order to see the ghosts of blogs past - then it opens back up into the main blog page and you have to scroll down again for all the posts. I know it's a bit confusing but I'm not quite sure how to work that bug out of the system yet.
How to leave a comment on a post:
If you'd like to leave a comment on a blog, please click on the title of the article you are reading, then scroll down and you'll find the place to leave the comment.
Thank you for viewing and for your support!

Mom to Mom
I joined a great network of women bloggers, Cincinnati Women’s Bloggers, and today was my first meeting. But, I have to say I was a bit nervous. I still get that heart racing, face flushing, sweaty palms reaction whenever I go into the “unknown”. But, I had nothing to fear. This is an awesome group of women who were very welcoming and a few in the group were newbies just like me so that made me feel better. I met one of the founders, Shannanb who also has a fun blog on her life as ... Continue reading ...

Mom to Mom
You know it’s bad when you are jamming along to The Doodlebop’s CD in the car. Yes, I admit it – I actually start to sing along. I can’t sing for long since my four year old puts a stop to it pretty quickly, “Mommy, NO singing”. I’ve always wanted to be able to carry a tune but it’s just not in the genes. Our family cannot sing; this has been carried down from generation to generation so I really shouldn’t feel so bad. But every so often, as I’m driving in the car by m... Continue reading ...
An Organized Mom is a Happy Mom

Mom to Mom
I got on an organizing kick these past few days. Why? I just visited my good friend in C-bus and she had the most amazing mud room – it used to be her laundry room but she moved out the laundry and replaced it with these awesome built in lockers with drawers for shoes, places to hang coats, and bins above. It was as if the heavens shown down from above and the angels were singing….”la….laaaa”. I loved it. Of course, then I had house envy, but instead of bemoaning the fact that I... Continue reading ...
3 Cats, 2 Dogs, 2 Kids & 1 Husband – Oh My!

Mom to Mom
It’s been a bit of a crazy week – you can probably see why based on my title. We watched my parents menagerie of animals (all “given” to them by my brothers, or should I say left). Anyhow, as parents you know that it’s hard enough to coordinate all your kids’ activities, clean the house, go to the grocery store, do the laundry, and so much more (you know this list could go on and on). So, throw in some additional animals and it really is an adventure in multi-tasking especially ... Continue reading ...
Video Games - Friend or Foe?
If you think playing a video game is a good idea for a five-year old, you might want to think again. We have an old PlayStation 2. I haven’t played a game on it for years and every so often my husband will play golf or football but other than that, it’s just been a DVD player for us. But all that changed after lunch with my Gen X brother, Marc. He’s like, “you know, you can get the girls a cheap used game at Game Stop”. “Really”? So off we went and purchased a Strawberry Sho... Birthday Party Mayhem.....

Mom to Mom
As Moms, we envision a nice birthday party where our kids are caring and considerate towards others, all the guests enjoy themselves and the Moms who stick around can chat nicely and catch up with one other……ahhh, if only! My dear friend recently had a birthday party at a local indoor restaurant playground and boy was she in for a rude awakening. Their third child was turning three and she thought, “Oh, we’ll just have a nice, care-free b-day, I’ll order meals for the kids in adva... Continue reading ...
