Note: If you pull up a recent blog post, you'll need to scroll down to the bottom of this page to read it - it is a snafu in the programming that this untrained web Mom can't quite figure out....yet.

MasonMetu™ Blog
Here you’ll find my blog where I write about some of my own experiences as a Mom as well as post some awesome giveaways. I’ll highlight certain features of MasonMetu that you might like to check out.
Thank you for reading my blog posts. I hope you can laugh along with me, preferably not at me. :) I've had fun writing the posts and I've found it is a great way to journal moments in our lives. One day when my girls are older, I'll be able to share these posts with them.
On some browsers (Internet Explorer), you may need to click on the current blog post in order to see the ghosts of blogs past - then it opens back up into the main blog page and you have to scroll down again for all the posts. I know it's a bit confusing but I'm not quite sure how to work that bug out of the system yet.
How to leave a comment on a post:
If you'd like to leave a comment on a blog, please click on the title of the article you are reading, then scroll down and you'll find the place to leave the comment.
Thank you for viewing and for your support!

Mom to Mom
School starts in three days. Yippee Yea! I am sooooooooo ready to have a routine, structure, and responsibilities again, not for my kids but for me. Lately For the entire summer, I’ve picked up some bad habits and I’m ready to make a change. The start of the school year is when I make my New Year’s resolutions – forget all that hoopla on Dec. 31st; its crunch time NOW……Here are my top 10 resolutions: - Make a menu plan weekly and have meals for at least 4 nights per week. If an...

Before.....and.....After! Yippee-Yea!
We did it…..the transformation is complete (well, almost). The Goecke household is on a different time frame then most others. It takes us a while to complete projects. I have so many “to do” lists that I think my brain shuts down and I get lazy lose my focus. So, the bedspread ensemble I bought two years ago is still in its original packaging but it really is going to make its big debut soon. The transformation that is complete is in our master bathroom. I have to say that I’m... Continue reading ...

Woe Is Me!
WARNING – Do Not Pass Go – Do Not Collect $100 and Do Not Read this if you get offended by bodily functions, specifically poop. “Mom, Sarah pooped in the tub…..ewwww…..gross”. Ahhh, what a glorious day it has been and this was the cherry on top! To come to Sarah’s defense, I don’t even think she realized that one teeny tiny little poopie was on the way out – she seemed about as surprised as I was. “Sarah, did you really just poop in the tub?” Sarah quickly gets out of... Please welcome a guest blog from John Odell, a retired teacher for the Mason City School District for 21 years. He's currently running for the Mason School District Board of Education. What Do You Expect of Students? Could We Do Away With Student Spelling Errors If We Wanted To?
Many years ago, I was lucky enough to have been chosen to participate in The Munich Sister City Association teacher exchange, an annual event for Cincinnati Area teachers. In Munich, Germany I visited their schools whi... Continue reading ...
Are your parents on Facebook?
PeePaw (aka my Dad) with Kitty Kaitlin Unless you’ve shunned the digital age, you’ve probably heard of Facebook (FB), the friend sharing site that lets you connect with friends (many from years past), post pictures, chat, email, do silly quizzes and much more. Initially I think FB was meant for Generation Y (aka my younger brother & his peers) but I think my generation (approaching 40 but not quite there) has really taken it over. I don’t have any actual statistics - I’m solely bas... Continue reading ...
