There are quite a few ice cream places in Mason, Deerfield Township, Warren County and Greater Cincinnati that are fun for kid's. This should really be a no-brainer, right? Graeter's anyone?

MasonMetu Tip: If they don't have kid's cones, I usually ask for a scoop of ice cream in a cup with a cone on top and then my girls split it. I either get an extra cup or one takes the cup and one takes the cone. See my review of The Cone & The Root Beer Stand on Family Friendly Cincinnati. |
Harter's Ice Cream - There's a new soft serve whippy dip
ice cream emporium open serving yummy frozen yogurt, soft serve ice
cream, beverages and beer. The are located near the entrance of Green Crest Golf Club in Liberty
Township, Ohio. Open every day from Noon - 10pm. 7813 Bethany Rd. If you
help them pick a name for their ice cream shop, you'll get free ice
cream for a year. Sounds like a deal to me. Stop by and enter your name selection!
The ice cream shop is surrounded by lots of green space perfect for kids to run around and have fun. There is plenty of large trees for shade and a large outdoor seating area. Plus if your kiddos like to golf, Green Crest offers some great golfing options for junior players.

This place has been around for a long time and it's only open for a few months out of the year so make sure you take your kids here. It's an old time rootbeer stand where they have the best rootbeer floats in town. You can also get hand dipped Velvet ice cream cones is a variety of flavors. The rootbeer is homemade and it is so good. If you eat inside, you can get your rootbeer in a frosty mug. They also have footlong hotdogs, hamburgers, deli sandwiches and more so bring the kids for lunch and have a rootbeer float. They've updated the seating area behind the rootbeer stand so you can enjoy your food outside while the kids play on the playset. See my article on Family Friendly Cincinnati.
Wiggy Dip - Kids love seeing the ice-cream truck in their neighborhood. It's part of summer time fun. Now, there's a new deluxe ice cream parlor on wheels that offers hand-dipped ice cream in all the flavors you love and more. Plus parents will love it too - you can walk into the mobile parlor, check out the plasma television while waiting your turn. Sara Wiggershaus's dream has finally come true and she is the proud owner of Wiggy Dip. Hopefully, you'll get to visit Wiggy Dip at a local festival soon. Wiggy Dip is usually rented for corporate or community events since there is a minimum number of 2-scoop ice cream cones/dishes that must be scooped (get 80 of your closest friends and Wiggy Dip will be there - what a great idea for a rehearsal dinner, wedding or high-school reunion). Sara said she hopes to incorporate a "Party in a Box" concept in the future where Wiggy Dip will scoop away for smaller groups and birthday parties. I hope it comes sooner than later since I love the idea of a "deluxe" mobile ice cream parlor. Best of luck Wiggy Dip! You can read more about Wiggy Dip on Cincy Chic.
