Having children is great but all the stuff they accumulate can become a bit overwhelming. So, instead of throwing away items, "Go Green" and donate them. There are plenty of places that would love to accept your gently used donations and you can usually get a tax write off for them. This can be a great way of teaching children how to be generous and thoughtful of others. | Please see our Worthy Causes page for some great organization to donate your time, talent and treasues. |

DonorsChoose.Org - www.donorshoose.org. I read about this site in a magazine and I think it's great. Their motto is "Teachers Ask. You Choose. Students Learn." You can select Ohio and it will direct you to teachers and schools that need help. You can even go in and select by school district. You can give as little or as much as you want and there are blurbs telling you what your donation money will be going towards.

Kudos to Lynne & Bill Wilkinson for starting such a wonderful organization local to Mason. They help women and families move out from shelters to start a new life. They accept clothing, baby items, furniture, household goods, pots & pans and more. Many of the women in the shelters had to quickly move out of their homes so they are starting completely over. They will even come pick up your donated items.

St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store - www.svdpcincinnati.org/. They help those in need and your donations are a big part of making that happen. Their motto, "neighbors helping neighbors". "That's what the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is all about - caring people helping their neighbors in need of the most basic necessities - food, shelter, clothing, transportation and emotional comfort. There are heartbreaking circumstances right here in our own community, but practical, compassionate person-to-person caring can make a world of difference." (per SVDP's website).
